Our Mission
The Permanent School on ICG Guided Surgery is an online educational initiative offering free instruction in fluorescence-guided surgical techniques. Founded in 2021 within the General Surgery specialization program at the University of Brescia, the school aims to connect experienced surgeons with trainees and senior practitioners interested in this field.
The Origins
The initiative emerged from an idea by Prof. Gian Luca Baiocchi (ASST Cremona and University of Brescia), with the aim of fostering the exchange of opinions, advice and information among experienced surgeons and aspiring practitioners.
Teaching Methodology
Sessions include live or recorded surgeries with multidisciplinary participation from radiologists, endoscopists, oncologists, pathologists, and radiation therapists. Each episode features surgical procedures with real-time discussion, clinical case presentations, and thematic webinars.
A New Era for Educational Content
MED IDEAS + Surgesquare
Over the years, the Permanent School on ICG Guided Surgery has produced an extraordinary amount of high-quality educational content. To enhance this wealth of material and make it accessible to an even wider audience, MED IDEAS and Surgesquare have joined forces to create a completely redesigned platform.
Innovation through Artificial Intelligence
This ambitious content reorganization project has been made possible through the advanced use of Artificial Intelligence. Surgesquare, a company specialized in applying AI for educational purposes in the healthcare sector, has developed innovative solutions for analyzing, classifying, and presenting surgical content.
The goal is to deliver clean, accessible, and clinically organized content, transforming hours of live surgery and specialist discussions into a structured and intuitive learning experience.
AI has enabled the processing, structuring, and easy navigation of years of educational material, ensuring that every professional can quickly find the clinical information they need.
